Manages or performs work associated with analysis, design, implementation, operation, deployment, and support of the institution’s information technology resources (including computer hardware, operating systems, communications, software applications, data processing and security), telecommunication systems, and software/database products by internal staff, outsourcing staff, or consultants.

Sub Family

Installs and operates audio/visual equipment within the institution. Sets-up requested equipment (video conferencing, video cameras, remote control devices etc.) for meetings and troubleshoots any issues with the equipment. May recommend new products or updates for purchase.

Develops, implements, and maintains a variety of data management structures and systems. Builds and maintains databases, administers and monitors database access, designs interactions of databases and applications, and administers the maintenance, storage, and backup of databases.

Designs, develops, implements and updates internal IT applications (development may be in software, desktop technology, web technology, network security, messaging, mainframe, etc.). Plans, develops, produces, and updates related technical documentation and training. Activities include evaluating, scheduling and resourcing development projects; investigating user needs; writing, testing and maintaining computer programs; planning, developing and implementing website and ecommerce applications; and preparing systems documentation and training. Development, programming, and configuration of organization-specific end user applications, systems software, databases, or websites for use by internal employees or for use in marketing, communications, or sales (including e-commerce websites) targeting external audiences are included.

Performs work associated with IT business analysis including: identifying and analyzing business needs, conducting requirements gathering, and defining scope and objectives; making recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through new technology or alternative uses of existing technology; translating business requirements into application requirements.

Performs work associated with developing, communicating, implementing, enforcing and monitoring security controls to protect the institution’s technology assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction including: designing, testing, and implementing secure operating systems, networks, and databases; password auditing, network based and web application based vulnerability scanning, virus management and intrusion detection; conducting risk audits and assessments, providing recommendations for application design; monitoring and analyzing system access logs; planning for security backup and system disaster recovery.

Manages and maintains computer networks within the institution. Responsibilities encompass various aspects of network management, including designing and planning network infrastructure, configuring network devices, monitoring network performance and security, troubleshooting network issues, providing user support and training, documenting network configurations, and collaborating with other IT teams.

Responsible for back end design, coding, documenting, debugging and testing of software applications. Develops detailed software requirements based on product specifications. Writes software test plans and conducts design tests.

Determines overall direction for the institution’s technical infrastructure. Positions work with technical staff to integrate hardware, software and network interfaces to form a system. Positions address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.

Designs, develops, and maintains the institution’s websites and web applications. This includes creating user-friendly interfaces, implementing responsive design principles, and ensuring the websites are accessible to all users. These positions may also involve collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements, managing content updates, and optimizing website performance. Additionally, these positions may be responsible for integrating third-party systems, implementing security measures, and staying up-to-date with emerging web technologies and best practices.

Provides support to internal end users in areas of personal computers/servers/mainframe applications, data/voice network, and ERP systems including: acquiring, installing, and upgrading PC components and software and planning for/responding to service outages; diagnosing problem source through discussions with users and coordinating with internal institution support and operations groups and/or with vendors to resolve problems; responding to user requests to research complex problems associated with the institution’s telecommunications networks (voice and/or data); providing real-time end user ERP systems support, problem identification, and training to facilitate knowledge transfer and prevent problem reoccurrence and knowledge transfer.
