Athletics

Administers the university’s athletics, training, and sports coaching programs. This job family is responsible for management, support and facilitation of university sports events and programs through world-class athletic programs and innovative recreation offerings. Includes activities and programs related to coaching, recreational sports, training, equipment management, strength and conditioning, specialized administration and wellness programs.

Sub Family

Supports the facilities and operations of athletics programs. Activities may include inventory control of athletic equipment, maintenance of athletic facilities, and/or coordination with coaching staff to support daily operations. May also assist maintaining the department’s budget.

Recruits, retains, coaches, and mentors athletes. Positions in this sub-family are responsible for management and support of student athletes in university sports programs. In accordance with program strategy, NCAA and SEC regulations, positions in this sub-family participate in recruitment, athletic development, training, conditioning, health, and safety for student athletes in university sports programs.

Provides comprehensive healthcare services to athletes and individuals involved in sports and physical activities. This includes assessing and diagnosing injuries, developing treatment plans, and implementing rehabilitation programs to promote recovery and prevent further injury. These positions may also provide on-field medical support during athletic events, including emergency care and injury management. They collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the overall well-being and performance of athletes.

Plans, organizes, develops, and implements training plans and programs. Positions in this sub-family may coordinate with coaching staff to develop weight training, conditioning, and nutrition plans for athletes. May also be involved with athlete’s injury recovery plan.

Manages and coordinates ticketing operations for athletic events. This includes overseeing the sale and distribution of tickets, managing ticketing systems, and ensuring a smooth and efficient ticketing process for fans, students, and staff. They may also be involved in coordinating ticket sales strategies, implementing pricing structures, and analyzing ticketing data to inform decision-making. Additionally, these positions may collaborate with other departments to coordinate special events, promotions, and season ticket packages.
