Richard M. Ayres, Esq.

Richard M. Ayres is Director of the Center for Labor/Management Studies, Fredericksburg, Virginia. His management consulting firm provides training and consulting to municipalities, private industry, hospitals and other health care organizations, and criminal justice agencies, particularly in the areas of value?driven leadership, organizational and executive development, team building, supervision, ethics, strategic planning, labor?management relations, and conflict resolution.  Dick has thirty?five years’ experience providing training and consultation to federal, local, and international agencies.

Formerly a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for 26 years, Dick served for 17 years on the faculty of the FBI Academy, Quantico, Virginia, as both an instructor and as Chief of the Management Science unit.  He also served as an adjunct faculty member of the University of Virginia.  He is widely published in professional journals in the areas of leadership, labor?management relations, negotiations, organizational stress, and collective bargaining.

Dick earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Dickinson College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania; a Master of Business Administration from Iona College, New Rochelle, New York; a Master of Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice; and a Juris Doctorate from the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington, D.C.
