Changes to Annual Performance Review Process
New Rating Scale
In an ongoing commitment to enhance the precision and relevance of performance feedback, the university has expanded the rating scale from four to five options. This year, employees will have the opportunity to select from these ratings across six competencies (Functional Knowledge, Work Quality, Professionalism & Inclusion, Service Orientation, Initiative, Communication & Collaboration, and Managing Others – Managers Only) and an overall evaluation.
Performance Review Meetings
Furthermore, the university has streamlined the performance review business process, empowering managers to release completed evaluations via GMS to employees before the scheduled meeting to discuss the evaluation. In addition to this efficiency, there will be enhanced guidance on conducting productive Performance Management review meetings. This includes a comprehensive discussion of the previous year’s review and a strategic focus on continuous development for the future.
Performance management training on employee self-evaluations and manager evaluations will begin February 16 and be available in-person and on Zoom. Annual performance reviews will be available in GMS starting February 20, 2024. Stay tuned for more details to be communicated in the coming weeks.
