Advance your career by networking inside and outside the University. In this interactive presentation you’ll learn the rules and tools of networking, how to find state-of-the-art resources, improve your visibility, and attract more opportunity. Even if you’ve said, “I’m too busy,” or “I’m too bashful,” the confidence and competence you’ll feel knowing these skills will bring more purpose and pleasure to your networking. Each participant will receive a copy of Lynne’s book, “Great Connections: Small Talk and Networking for Businesspeople.” You’ll learn how to:

  • Master the 3 key moments in every relationship;
  • Advance through the 5 stages in any relationship;
  • Remember names… and teach them yours
  • Answer “What do you do?” in a way that shows your character and competence;
  • Steer small talk to uncover resources and referrals;
  • Make the most of memberships, associations, and conventions;
  • Become the natural and only choice when opportunity arises;
  • Know what to do and say in a variety of professional and business situations;
  • Think strategically about where to and when to network;
  • Join groups of people who are already talking;
  • Penetrate the ‘inner circle’ in the groups you join;
