GU Human Resources department has the privilege to work with one of the nation’s promising academic ventures, Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School in the Washington, DC Metro area. Sustained mostly on its own merits and through the support of its corporate clients, the school always welcomes volunteers who can afford their talents, skills and abilities in helping students. Business Boot Camp
Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School organizes a “Business Boot Camp” every year. The Business Boot Camp is a three-week job training program for incoming freshmen and transfer students. DBCR Boot Camp needs:
Friday, August 10 from 8:30am – 12:30pm
8-10 volunteers for the Metro Scavenger Hunt. Metro fare will be provided by DBCR.
Thursday, August 16 from 10:30am – 12:30pm
30 volunteers for Interviews. Training will be provided from 10:30-11:30am
Instructors (one per class) for classes held from 11:35am – 12:30pm
All classes will have clear written lesson plans. The instructor only has to deliver the content. The instructor will incorporate practical applications to school, work and life. Volunteers must arrive 30 – 45 minutes before class time.
Hygiene – Wednesday, August 1.
Following Instructions/ Task Management (one course) – Monday, August 6.
Details & Accuracy/ Filing Practice (one course) – Tuesday, August 7.
Map Reading – Wednesday, August 8.
Time Management – Thursday, August 14.
